A Typical Visit

What 24/7 Care & Support Looks Like

With 24-hour care, someone is in the home whenever your loved one needs help, day or night. Days follow the care plan: help with bathing and dressing, meals, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and company. Evenings and nights cover getting ready for bed, help with the bathroom, and a calm, steady presence if your loved one wakes up confused or unsettled.

Families often choose 24-hour care after a fall, after a hospital stay, or when a loved one can no longer safely be alone. Care is scheduled around your care plan, including evenings, weekends, and overnight. The plan changes as your loved one’s needs change.

When more than one caregiver shares the schedule, we keep the team as consistent as possible and share your loved one’s routine with each caregiver, so every day follows the same plan.

How Care Begins

Getting Started with 24/7 Care & Support

Around-the-clock care takes careful planning. Here’s how we set it up with you.

  1. Tell us what’s changed

Call your local office or request a free care assessment. Tell us what has happened and what worries you most about nights and time alone.

  2. Free in-home assessment

A care coordinator visits, reviews safety around the home, and builds a personalized care plan that covers days, evenings, and overnight.

  3. Your care team

We assign carefully selected caregivers matched to your loved one’s needs, personality, and language, so every shift feels familiar.

  4. Care starts, and we stay close

We can usually begin care within 48 hours, or later if you’d like to meet your caregiver first. Once care begins, you’ll have a number you can call any time, day or night.

"I would like to commend my father's caregiver Victoria. There was an issue with his life alert device and she acted quickly to rectify the issue with the instructions we left her. The ambulance dispatched through the 911 call was cancelled and no emergency services time was wasted."

Questions Families Ask

24/7 Care & Support Questions, Answered

How is 24-hour care scheduled?

Care is scheduled around your care plan, including evenings, weekends, and overnight. Your care coordinator builds the schedule with you and adjusts it when your loved one’s needs or your family’s plans change.

How do families pay for 24/7 Care & Support?

24/7 Care & Support is private pay. Some long-term care insurance policies help with the cost of daily care, and we’ll review your policy with you. Our Paying for Care page explains each option.

What happens if there’s an emergency?

In a medical emergency, caregivers are instructed to call 911 or activate the client’s emergency alert system, remain with the client as appropriate, and promptly notify the designated family contact and our care team.

Can family members still be involved?

Of course. Family can visit, share meals, and keep their own routines, and the care plan notes who to call and when. 24-hour care can let you be a son or daughter again, not only a caregiver.

How do we know if it’s time for 24-hour care?

Common signs include falls or near-falls at night, wandering, needing help to the bathroom several times a night, or a family caregiver who can no longer get enough sleep. A free care assessment can help you decide whether 24-hour care or a shorter schedule fits best.
